Dogora multiples into many hundreds of smaller monsters, and the military deploys their venom weapons to stave off the invasion. The monsters die and crystallize, forming rocky lumps that fall to earth. Komai and Jackson chase the smugglers along the seaside until the smugglers are crushed by the falling debris.

Space Monster Dogora, was one of the last giant monster movies produced by Toho to feature only one monster in it's own movie. It was produced and released in Japan in 1964, after Mothra vs. Godzilla, but before Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster. 1964 was a very productive year for Toho.
A professor created a synthetic diamond, and Dogora was attracted to it. One of Toho's lesser known daikaiju-eiga films, Dogora, the Space Monster is a welcome break from the ape-y muskiness of my recent forays into giant monster cinema. The story is one part campy sci-fi film, and one part heist story, as the world comes under siege from a space monster that is consuming all of its carbon, the Japanese police force attempts to stop a gang of international diamond thieves. Released almost three and a half months after Tokyo Shock's own offering on Region 1, Toho's Region 2 DVD for Dogora turns out to be vastly superior to the R1 DVD in almost every aspect. Featuring superior video, additional audio options and a great behind the scenes featurette which focuses on the special effects for the monster, this is quite simply the best version of Dogora on the DVD format.
